The Overlooked And Unique Editing Of Ang Lee’s Hulk

Ang Lee’s Hulk (2003) was very complex and cerebral. The editing style for certain scenes of the film were based on comic book panels, which Ang Lee and Tim Squyres read to help set up the visual style.

For example, where Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) received a call from David Banner (Nick Nolte), the earlier was in the left panel and the latter was in the right panel, with audio tracks intact.

Very few films use such an innovative editing style, which made me think that without that editing style, films might be a bit too formulaic.
