Terrible Truths: Spider-Man 2 Enter Electro Recall

“Tonight, Electro dances with the gods!”

For a while, that is. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (2001) was initially released on August 2001 but was recalled after the September 11th attacks of that same year for these reasons and here is the biggest pre-9/11 and post-9/11 change for the game.

Pre-9/11:

In the final boss battle, Electro landed on the World Trade Center and became an almighty being of electricity, where Spider-Man should defeat him on top of the World. Just before the battle, Spider-Man remarked to Electro, “Where would you be on top of the World?”

Post-9/11:

In the final boss battle, the World Trade Center is not seen and mentioned. However, it was redesigned in the game to make it look like a generic skyscraper with a bridge.

After that significant change, the game was finally released in October 2001 without any references to the event and the World Trade Center for a great effect.
