Underrated Masterpieces: Treasure Planet

While Lilo & Stitch (2002) was considered worldwide to be legendary for Disney, Treasure Planet (2002) failed, initially.

Treasure Planet is a futuristic and science fiction adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island (1882). Ironically, the film premiered a hundred and twenty years after the original book.

It is about Jim Hawkins (Joseph-Gordon Levitt) who wanted his mother’s restaurant to have a bigger profit. Billy Bones met Hawkins and warned him about a cyborg. Hawkins was given a metal ball which contains a map to the Loot of a Thousand Worlds: Treasure Planet.

The legend narrated by the great Tony Jay explained that Captain Nathaniel Flint (Peter Cullen) took all of the treasure from different ships and took it to Treasure Planet, alongside himself.

With two hidden songs made by Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Treasure Planet is worth collecting.
