Timeless Classics: Spider-Man 3

Timeless Classics: Spider-Man 3

My second favorite of the Sam Raimi trilogy, Spider-Man 3 (2007) pretty much ended with a bang as the first film did.

While people can criticize the heavy amount of characters, they cannot criticize the story that felt less like Spider-Man 2 (2004) and started to feel more like Spider-Man (2002). Not to mention a few sound clips were reused from the first film.

The film had three villains because it was a nice idea to weave three similar threads about Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) about his past (Thomas Haden Church), his present (James Franco) and his future (Topher Grace).

I understand why Topher Grace was disgraced by many Venom fanboys for being no Tom Hardy but Venom is the only villain in the trilogy that is not affable. And who can forget the James Brown montage? They thought it was too goofy but it actually felt good because the song somewhat resembled the Spider-Man theme song.

Spider-Man 3 is a great finale to Sam Raimi’s trilogy that should not be tangled.
