Terrific Television: VeggieTales

VeggieTales (1993-Present), especially the direct-to VHS episodes made during the 1990s have been revolutionary for bringing kind morals while encouraging children to eat fruit and vegetables.

The first episodes have covered many topics including learning how to deal fear, apologizing to bad deeds and making friends with neighbors.

It was revolutionary for the computer-generated animation that became a precursor for many kid-friendly cartoons including Toy Story (1995), Shrek (2001) and Hotel Transylvania (2012).

They were extremely successful in the 1990s and early 2000s with a wide array of demographics due to the ever popular Silly Songs With Larry that began with the Water Buffalo Song and how well it addressed morals of life to children of all ages.

Dave and the Giant Pickle (1996) introduced Larry the Cucumber as superhero Larry-Boy who had episodes within the series including The Fib From Outer Space (1997) and The Rumor Weed (1999) and a short-lived standalone hand drawn series: Larry-Boy The Cartoon Adventures (2002-2003).

VeggieTales has been an iconic part of animation from the 1990s and the episodes from that era are beyond perfect to re-discover.
