Timeless Classics: Eyes Wide Shut

Timeless Classics: Eyes Wide Shut

The very last film of Stanley Kubrick and a great 1990s interpretation of Dream Story (1926), Eyes Wide Shut (1999) is a deep, dark and daring film that enchanted many.

Dr. William Hafford (Tom Cruise) and his wife Alice (Nicole Kidman) go through a romantic day, involving a masked cult and a highly romantic twist.

Stanley Kubrick wanted to adapt Dream Story ever since the 1960s but he was not given the chance until the 1990s.

Kubrick gave Cruise and Nicole Kidman a final cut of the film mere days before his tragic death.

It is deep proof that Stanley Kubrick brought the best for last of his lifetime and influenced many directors and writers ever since.
