Timeless Classics: Step Brothers

Timeless Classics: Step Brothers

Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly helped create an irreplaceable comedy which is Step Brothers (2008).

Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) stay with their parents’ house as they plan to become unemployed and immature step brothers in their forties. Brennan was great at singing and Dale was good at playing the drums. And once Brennan touched Dale’s drum-set, Doback immaturely yelled and swore at Brennan for touching it.

“I know you touched my drumstick ‘cuz the left one has a chip in it.”

Not only is the film, specifically the unrated version very funny but it helped address maturity as the iconic film progressed as the two decide to get a job and mature as real adults, not acting like twelve-year old boys.

The film helped inspire the “It’s The Catalina Wine Mixer” event that is annually held at Catalina island since 2015.

Step Brothers can help certain people understand maturity while getting some laughs about it.
