Timeless Classics: Terminator 2 Judgment Day

With the 3-D theatrical re-release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) arriving on August 2017, it is time to reflect what made the groundbreaking sequel to The Terminator (1984) so memorable.

Like the previous film, Terminator 2 was the only sequel involved with James Cameron’s writing and directing besides the Terminator 3-D Race Against Time ride, which served as the ultimate fanboy conclusion.

In the year 1997, Judgment Day will arrive from Skynet, where they sent in two Terminators: a T-1000 (Robert Patrick) and a reformed T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger). The T-800 was sent to help John Connor (Edward Furlong) and his mother, Sarah (Linda Hamilton) and stop the T-1000 from pursuing John.

“Hasta la vista, baby!”

The visual effects and action sequences were very iconic and have aged very well, even by 21st century standards such as the liquid metal appearance of the T-1000.

While the movie can make you feel bad to the bone, it will benefit greatly for the 3-D re-release on August to understand how the film heavily improved on the original.
